COMMUNITY TRANSPORT… the keys to connection

Community transport is a social justice initiative that responds to the need to support people who experience transport insecurity, whether it be because of ability, frailty, isolation, economic disadvantage, or health. Community transport provides independence and dignity to those who find access to public transport difficult and is responsive to community need by providing ‘gap filling’ services where there is no alternative.

Public transport is not always a comfortable and supported option for people experiencing vulnerability – Community transport responds to this need with a focus on the individual journey. Community transport can be used for any day to day activity, and is often provided by not for profit entities.

CTO members deliver a broad range of accessible and affordable travel options that relate directly to community need.

Community transport has a penetrating and positive social impact on community, and has been measured to impact social isolation, quality of life, determinants of health and social mobility.

The Community Transport Organisation Ltd (CTO) provides peak body services for the community transport industry. The CTO Conference 2023 will bring the sector together with industry, research and government partners to focus on building sector capability through education and networking, while also illuminating the vital role that community transport plays in supporting healthy communities.

The CTO cares about people who need transport to connect to their daily lives. We advocate for equitable, inclusive, accessible, safe and affordable transport to be available for all people. OUR CONFERENCE

The CTO will host CTO Conference 2024 – ‘Electrify’ on the 15 th& 16th October 2024 at the iconic Daltone House on Sydney Harbour

As the community transport industry’s pinnacle annual event, the conference attracts over 250 delegates from transport providers and those with a transport interest from across NSW and Nationally.

The conference will feature a range of presentations, workshops, and keynote speakers that range from industry experts, government and sector leaders who will shed light on the challenges and opportunities facing this vital sector.

The CTO Conference 2023 Key Note Speaker will be announced to the sector within the next month and is of a high calibre, professional speaker who will highlight the imperative role that transport plays in quality of life.
